Day 4 - Shauna

I did another 5K on the treadmill tonight.  I feel great.  I added a little bit of carbs to my meal right before workout (1/4 cup of rice) with the chicken and green beans.  It really helped!  A shout out of thanks to my friend Kim urging me to add the carbs.  She had the same problem with the "spins" when working out when she was on South Beach.  Also, thank you to the person who commented on my last post and educated me as to how bad it is to not be eating any carbs.  I guess I didn't realize how bad it was for my body!  Which is the exact reason for this blog, to be educated by anyone who wants to help us with this journey of healthy living and weight loss!

On a side bar, I should give you a little background of me and Lori.  I will probably be posting more than her, because she has alot more going on in her life than I do.  I am a stay home mom to two great kids (ages 8 & 2).  Lori is a full-time working mom of 3 great kids (ages 12, 4 & 1).  So if you see me posting more than her, you will understand why! 

So anyways, I am feeling pretty good on Day 4 of this.  I already got my minimum of 3 working out days in this week, and I am going to shoot for 5 days.   My husband and oldest child go to karate two nights a week so I am usually too busy with my toddler to work out on those days.  So my diet will have to perfect on those days!!!

Well, thats it for today.  My new mantra is "SLOW AND STEADY WINS THE RACE!!"
